    A student at Barrackville Elementary/Middle School prepares lemonade to sell at the Capitol in Charleston as part of the West Virginia Department of Education's annual Lemonade Stand Project to promote entrepreneurship. The project incorporates math, reading, composition, social studies and higher level thinking skills as students determine costs, select recipes and create marketing plans.

Students at Liberty High School in Raleigh County receive free laptop computers as winners of the Inaugural Globaloria in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Games Competition.
